The meeting between The City of Claremont Senior Program Supervisor, Jason Lass, John Ammon and Sandy Hester, CSLA Class 2012 and Vice Chair and Chair of the LA/OC REGION respectively, provided an opportunity to share what CALIFORNIA SENIOR LEADERS ALLIANCE is all about.  A copy of the 2014 CSL Booklet and the CSLA INFORMATION CARD provided a good beginning to open the conversation.  John shared the history of CSL and its   current transition to CSLA.  Sandy shared the strength of diversity of our statewide organization and expressed our desire to establish a mutual supportive relationship with their senior programs.

Jason commented that a strong advocacy organization is needed now more than ever.  The one-hour meeting resulted in a mutual agreement to work together on like-minded Advocacy senior issues and to provide a two-way communication link between our communities.  Jason suggested that the City's Committee on Aging may invite us to make a more formal presentation at one of their monthly meetings.  We would invite our Executive Director, Betty Johnson to join us in the presentation.

This is an initial effort as we begin to develop a strong affiliate network with other senior organizations to strengthen our advocacy efforts throughout the state.
